I think mongoose cancellation was good and it was dead end, but everything else makes sense. Didn't know he made these decisions

After the cancellation of the Mongoose project, many Samsung developers moved to competitors like Google.

Ironically, as soon as he shut down Mongoose, ARM’s reference core, the X1, showed a significantly underwhelming performance improvement. In response, Samsung decided to attempt developing custom cores again. However, by then, the talented developers had long since moved to competitors, and the aftereffects of this decision are still being felt today.

Samsung intended to use custom cores in the Exynos 2600, but their performance was far inferior to ARM’s reference cores, forcing them to postpone the implementation to the 2700.

I believe this was another shortsighted decision.

Cortex X1 was actually a good uplift over previous gen Cortex A77.

It was with Cortex X2 that ARM started slacking, all the way through to Cortex X4. Cortex

He's known for demanding reports be written so that 'it could be understood by an elementary school student' according to Samsung 20 year veteran semiconductor employees.
